In fall 2025, Clinical Trials British Columbia and GSK Canada jointly initiated and co-hosted an industry-focused roundtable on clinical trials in BC.
As the new year rolls in, Clinical Trials British Columbia continues to integrate research ethics into its core mandate. This move further galvanizes the connection between BC’s research ethics community and the provincial clinical trials landscape.
On December 20, 2025, Health Canada posted a consultation on the modernizing the framework for clinical trials involving drugs for human use, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, radiopharmaceuticals, and cannabis.

In June, the Research Ethics Board Administrator (REBA) Harmonization and Education Event brought together 40 attendees from 27 research ethics boards across BC.
